Sheriff Captain Nate Schmidt

Captain Nate Schmidt has been with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office for 20 years. During these 20 years, Captain Schmidt has worked at several different duty stations including the Santa Rita Jail, the Eden Township Substation and Dublin Police Services.  Approximately 15 years of his career has been spent working  for Dublin Police Services.  While at Dublin Police Services, Captain Schmidt worked his way up through the ranks, working and supervising both patrol staff and the investigation units.  His current role of Captain tasks him with supervising 57 sworn members and 8 non-sworn members of the Dublin Police staff.  He reports directly to the Chief of Police Garrett Holmes.  Captain Schmidt has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of California Davis, he’s  married and has an eight year-old daughter.
